Asian wasp nests on the ground

There have already been several attacks by Asian wasps on people who worked in the fields (tilling the land, mowing the garden, cutting the undergrowth ...)
How is it possible that there have been these attacks if the people who have been attacked have not seen any nests?
The answer is quite simple: Asian wasps can also nest on the ground.
In this video we can see how in less than 5 seconds between 10 and 12 Asian wasps come out to attack the person who approaches the nest on the ground.
In this case, the images have been transferred by SERPA (a company specialized in the extermination of the Asian wasp in all the areas affected by vespa velutina nigrithorax in Spain). They are professionals, and they were protected with special suits to protect against Asian wasps.
But what would have happened if anyone had stepped on the nest doing work in the field such as cutting branches and brush, mowing, planting, maintaining forests, parks and gardens ... or even taking a trip through the forest? The result would have been an attack by Asian wasps like the one we have seen in the video.
We take this opportunity to remember the importance of putting traps against the Asian wasp and we advance the news that new models of traps against vespa velutina nigrithorax will be released soon.
