Sonic effect of the hive protective module
The protective module produces a resonance box effect that intimidates the Asian wasp, since it perceives that it is facing a swarm much larger than it really is.
The hive, when making a much larger sound with the module installed (especially when the bees are fluttering when cooling with the flutter the hive and the module) gives the impression of being a much larger hive, so the Asian wasp shows a lot more cautious and usually avoids entering the module when thinking that it is a much larger swarm.
Therefore, the fact that a sound box effect is created makes the Asian wasp look much more cautious and more often stay in front of the hive without entering it and on a static flight. It is precisely this static flight of the wasp that will make it difficult for it to catch bees, since the bees enter and leave the module with greater acceleration thanks to their frontal design.

In the event that the Asian wasp passed the first barrier, it would be impossible to overcome the second barrier due to the steel mesh filter (there have been cases in which a smaller Asian wasp has passed the second filter, but being very difficult to leave, the same bees to overcome it in number end with it eliminating it).
The beehive protective module has been tested for 3 years by SERPA, a company dedicated to the extermination of Asian wasps (Vespa velutina) in Spain.
It is important to remember that the protection efficiency of the module and the chances of survival of the hive against an attack and siege of the Asian waspp increase with the installation of traps next to the hive that catch the exploratory Asian wasps (by catching the scouting wasps, they will not be able to return to the nest and give information on where the hive they are attacking is located).
